drop knee / ˈdrɑpˌni / DRAHP-nee
A climbing technique that uses hip rotation and a lowered knee to create tension and pull the center of mass towards the wall.
A surfing maneuver defined by an inward drop of the surfer's back knee as the hips rotate through a turn, creating a low, stable position that deepens rail engagement.
